to apply for the job
Our work is varied, exciting, and educational with a good sense of community and job satisfaction.
We have a strong focus on development and see continuous improvements as a natural part of everyday life to offer patients high-quality specialist care. We also actively work on our methods to implement improvements ahead of the move to a new emergency hospital.
In this role, you will have a stimulating job and in the long run, you may be sponsored to pursue specialist training in Emergency Care.
Job Responsibilities
As a nurse with us, you will work with a unique patient breadth - everything from newborns to people at the end of life. Working within our organization will involve personal development, as you encounter many different types of situations where you use both your medical knowledge and life experience. You will work in a team with doctors and nursing assistants regarding assessment, prioritization, and care of critically ill patients.
Your Introduction
You will receive training in one clinic at a time, and when you feel secure in one clinic, you will move on to the next. The introduction is tailored to your specific needs. When you start, you will begin at one of our clinics: surgery/medicine/orthopedics and stay there for about 2-4 months.
Once you are familiar with all three clinics, you will be trained to receive patients and work with triage, which involves making an initial assessment. After that, you will proceed to training for alarms. Before alarm placement, there is both alarm training and TNCC (trauma care) to help prepare you for the task.
We also have a position we call Frontnurse, who sits in the reception and makes an initial assessment of where the patient should seek care. There, one can sort patients into the various emergency clinics or refer them to primary care or other clinics.
About the Workplace
Working in the Emergency Department means broad competence development as you meet patients across many different specialties. Last year, we received approximately 58,000 patients for medical visits, of which 2,500 came in on alarms. Our largest patient groups are in medicine/infection, surgery, and orthopedics. During on-call hours, we also have patients from smaller clinics such as ophthalmology, otolaryngology, gynecology, and maxillofacial surgery. Our trauma unit is one of the largest in the country and receives trauma cases around the clock. We also have alarm teams for surgical, medical, orthopedic, infection, and pediatric patients.
For us, it is important that you feel good and enjoy your job, which is why we offer you:
- tailored introduction program to help you feel secure and confident in your professional role
- opportunities for professional development through internal training
- a workplace for different stages of life, with flexible working hours within certain frameworks
- free training at our fully equipped gym
- wellness allowance of 3000 SEK/year

To ensure patient-safe care, it is required that you have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. It is an advantage if you are computer literate and have knowledge of the Cosmic journal system.
As a person, you easily see what needs to be done and act accordingly with the patient's best interests in focus. You have good self-awareness, are confident in yourself, and can distinguish between the personal and professional in interactions with others.
